Oracle has recently announced in the latest update of its Oracle Lifetime Support Policy for Oracle Fusion Middleware document that the Oracle Forms 12c premier support has been extended to December 2025. The end of premier support date was previously set to December 2023, but the date has been extended by two years. Oracle Reports 12c is also included in this along with all other Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c products. Oracle is currently working on the next major release of Oracle Forms as we speak, but there is no information yet stating when it will be released. The fact that there are no immediate plans for the next major version to be released likely indicates why the support date was extended by at least two years.

New Support Dates:

  • Premier Support: December 2025
  • Extended Support: December 2027
  • Sustaining Support: Indefinite

Please note that this is for Oracle Forms and Reports 12.2.1.4.0 and not for older releases of 12c. However, the error correction period for Oracle Forms and Reports 12.2.1.3.0 has been extended to December 2022 (was originally September 2020). However, this is only limited to high priority fixes and security updates which are released quarterly. It is strongly advised that all customers running Oracle Forms and Reports 12.2.1.3.0 or older should upgrade to at least Oracle Forms and Reports 12.2.1.4.0. This is essential for staying up-to-date with the latest security fixes going into 2023 and beyond. In addition, you will be able to maintain support from Oracle Support now that the Oracle Forms 12c premier support has been extended by two years.
