The following will describe how to upgrade PITSS.CON users from older versions to the latest version. Before going through with the upgrade process, please read through the whole documentation before beginning. Note: this is documented by upgrading a user from version 7.0.0.1 to version 8.0.4.2, but the upgrade process works the same for upgrading to the latest version 12.2.2 (as of December 20, 2013).

Required before beginning:

  • CD installation disk of the latest PITSS.CON software.
  • List of the all the users whom you need to upgrade.

The upgrade process:

1. Load the latest PITSS.CON installation disk by selecting autorun.exe. NOTE: In Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7, make sure to run autorun.exe as an administrator.

4. If you need to upgrade all of the users, select the option that says ‘Upgrade 2 or more users’.

5. You will get a list of users that you can upgrade, select the users that you want to upgrade. NOTE: If any PITSS users are to be upgraded, make sure that MIG is included in the upgrade!

6. After you have finished selecting the users that you want to upgrade, proceed with the upgrade process.

7. After the upgrade is complete, go into C:\pitsscon\PitssJava and copy jacob.jar to %ORACLE_HOME%\forms\java. If there is already a jacob.jar in this location, make a backup of it first.

8. Restart the WLS_FORMS WebLogic server.

9. After the process is completed, test a user account to make sure the process was completed successfully. If there were no errors, during the setup, you are finished.

Please contact PITSS before planning to upgrade PITSS.CON.
